Claire Lumsden currently studies with mezzo-soprano Kathleen McKellar Ferguson as a postgraduate student at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Prior to this, she studied voice with soprano Irene Drummond whilst completing her Bachelor of Music with Honours at the University of Edinburgh. During her studies she was a Tovey Memorial Prize runner up, and sang with NYCOS and the Edinburgh University Singers, as well as portraying various roles such as Pitti-Sing (Mikado, 2019) and Lady Angela (Patience 2020) in operettas with the Edinburgh Gilbert and Sullivan Society. In 2019 she performed as Second Woman in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas with Coro19. Her solo work includes Ein Deutsches Requiem with the Edinburgh University Chorus and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater with Coro21.
