Purcell Songs with Mhairi Lawson – relaxed performance

This season we are artists in residence at Lanternhouse, Cumbernauld where we will present a programme of classical music on the big screen, open rehearsals, children’s events and relaxed performances.

We know that not everyone wants to sit in silence during a concert, some of us want to sing, dance, laugh, take a break or move around. Our relaxed, daytime performances are specially designed for those with additional support needs and for those with caring responsibilities.

This performance with soprano Mhairi Lawson will feature songs and instrumental music by Purcell and his Scottish contemporaries – with plenty of familiar Scottish folksongs along the way.

Nature’s Voice – at Lanternhouse cinema

This season we are artists in residence at Lanternhouse, Cumbernauld where we will present a programme of relaxed performances, open rehearsals, children’s events and classical music on the big screen.

Lanternhouse’s plush new cinema is the perfect place to enjoy Nature’s Voice, a specially commissioned filmed performance featuring soprano Rowan Pierce performing a beautiful programme of music inspired by nature. The programme includes excerpts from Vivaldi Four Seasons, Telemann Violin Concerto ‘The Frogs’ and Water Music, and arias for soprano and orchestra by Handel and Scarlatti.

John Butt will introduce the film and there will be an opportunity for Q&A at the end.
