Audiences are a precious commodity (if we ever needed confirmation of this, COVID 19 has given it) and are what make performances into concerts.
To have the kind of loyal support that Dunedin Consort receives, is the jewel in the crown and to look out into an audience and see familiar faces not necessarily people I have ever even spoken to, but those who I recognise from previous concerts — is so uplifting.

Making the connection
Do you have a favourite instrument, a favourite Dunedin Consort musician, or would you simply like to show your support to the Consort in a unique way? As Dunedin Consort marks its 25th birthday in 2021, we are pleased to announce the launch of our Chair Sponsorship programme, allowing you to make your gift a personal one.
WHAT IS IT?
Chair sponsorship allows you to support a specific musician or position within our ensemble, underwriting the costs of one of our regular positions, which include our principal singers, leader, principal cello, principal flute, principal trumpet and music director, among others.
Perhaps you already support Dunedin Consort as one of our Friends but would like to make the connection more personal. Perhaps you would like to give the sponsorship as a gift, or to mark a special milestone.
Chair sponsorship is a unique and personal way to show your support, building a strong link between sponsor and musician, and connecting you directly to Dunedin Consort’s work.
HOW CAN I GIVE?
You can choose to give monthly or annually, and you can choose to sponsor a specific musician or you can let us do the match-making for you.
- Tutti Strings, Winds and Ripienists — from £50 per month (£600 per annum)
- Principal Winds, Strings & Singers — from £100 per month (£1,200 per annum)
- Leader & Associate Director — from £300 per month (£3,600 per annum)
- Music Director — from £500 per month (£6,000 per annum)

The last 25 years have taken Dunedin Consort on an extraordinary journey. Who could have known that when we gave our first concerts in Edinburgh in 1996, we would one day find ourselves touring the world, reaching thousands of listeners every year and earning international acclaim for our ever-growing programme of concerts, workshops and recordings.
None of this would have been possible without the unswerving commitment of our musicians and the generous support of our friends. By sponsoring one of our musicians, you can help us plan for the next 25 years, allowing us to shore up our foundations and look ambitiously to the future.
Your gift will go directly towards rehearsal and performance fees for your chosen musician. Together, this will enable us to form a committed group of like-minded donors whose support directly contributes to the livelihoods of our extraordinary musicians.
