The Soundworld of Rembrandt

At the beginning of August we were lucky enough to be invited to perform a special programme at the National Galleries of Scotland in Edinburgh to coincide with their Rembrandt exhibition. Under the direction of Nicholas Mulroy we presented music by Rembrandt’s Dutch contemporaries Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck and Constantijn Huygens – music we can expect him to have heard during his daily life – alongside music by seventeenth-century luminaries including Heinrich Schütz and Claudio Monteverdi.

Performed after-hours in the Gallery’s beautiful exhibition space, it was a very special event and we are delighted to share a few images from the evening with you here.
